152/365 4 gauge sterling

Laurie Brown* very generously sent me a long piece of 4 gauge wire (which is just over 1/4 inch thick and very hard to form) so that I could attempt to make a ring with it, as she so skillfully did for her RAD #82. I have soldered it closed 3 times, and it keeps busting open on the mandrel. I am not giving up.

Here is Laurie's* beautiful ring, she started with the 4 gauge (5mm) and stretched it to 14 gauge (1.6 mm). She is GOOD.

Victoria Takahashi, aka experimetal, has joined in on the virtual fun for her ring today, and has made her version with my version of Laurie Brown's lovely thorn ring. I'm tired of making rings. This is an inkjet print of the ring that Laurie Brown made today. Her piece is titled, For Better AND for Worse Engagement Ring, that's a real rose thorn, and I love it.

Ring Auction for Haiti

Great news! My Ring for Haiti will be auctioned in a fundraiser on eBay along with 20 other handmade rings. It has only been three days since the earthquake, I suspect we will have more contributions this week. Some are rings from the Ring a Day project, and others are not. The date of the auction is yet to be determined.
