31/365 cilice
Crown of Thorns Cilice Ring. For centuries some members of the Roman Catholic church have practiced corporal mortification through the use of a cilice belt, or metal spiked chain, as a constant reminder of Christ's sacrifice to the world. The belt is typically worn around the thigh.
This ring is made from sterling silver and sharpened copper nails and works by compression. It's pretty uncomfortable, yet I can't seem to stop trying it on.

Haiti Auctions Start Feb. 1st!
Ring auctions start Monday, February 1, we now have 50 rings! Auctions will last 7 days, one or two rings will be listed each day, and they will continue on a rolling basis until all of the rings are sold. 100% of the proceeds will go to the GlobalGiving Relief Fund for Haiti Earthquake. Donation distribution is handled by MissionFish, a third-party, non-profit organization.
I will post the start and end date for each ring auction here on the blog, with a link to the eBay auction page. I will add more as I receive pictures from the artists. Here are some more rings.
Dauvit Alexander of Glasgow, Scotland has offered his amazing Frank Sinatra ring. Dauvit says, "The nut on top was found in the road in a rather grim industrial estate in Burgess Hill. It is set with 21 yellow sapphires and spins. The ends are set with peridots and there is a garnet on the bottom. Why the name? Well, it is a 'dice' ring. The sapphires are arranged in groups of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and it can be spun, the top face being the one which gives the number 'thrown'. When I came up with the idea - and all through manufacture - I could hear Frank in my head, singing 'Luck Be A Lady Tonight'." This ring has sold.
Janos Gabor Varga lives in Genova, Italy and generously gives his forged iron ring with 18 karat gold dots, which he made from a square iron tube. The auction for this ring has ended.

30/365 burlap
I've been ill the past two days and couldn't make my rings. Yesterday was the deadline for EtsyMetal's project runway challenge, the assignment was to make jewelry incorporating burlap. I spent this morning playing around with some ideas, but am not really happy with any of them. Tomorrow's another ring!

27/365 plastic tubing
I've been playing around with some polyolefin heat shrink tubing for electronics that I picked up at Home Depot this weekend. This stuff has great possibilities, but I have no idea if it is safe. Once it shrinks it's really on there. It's very flexible and is supposed to take abrasion well. Tonight I incorprated the tubing with an adjustable depletion gilded sterling silver ring.
Danielle Miller-Gilliam
Danielle Miller-Gilliam of Danielle Miller Jewelry creates both modern and organic work that is very finely finished, and much of it is kinetic. I have long been an admirer of her jewelry. Here is her gorgeous and elegant sterling silver Growth ring, her 25th in the Ring a Day series.

Mike Stromberg
Mike Stromberg of Mike and Mary Jewelry created this spectacular Kitty Fishin' ring, one of my favorite RAD pieces so far. It's made of sterling silver, copper, string, and a cat toy. You can view the video of Mike demonstrating the ring with their cat here.
24/365 kite
This is the second piece I've designed with the photo in mind, the first was my creepy doll head ring. It's a new and interesting way for me to work. I'm really pleased with the pic, a wide angle lens helps with the illusion of scale.
